As the human population and overconsumption grow, the waste product that we produce becomes harder to get rid of. With sufficient thinking, we tend to think that improper waste management doesn’t affect us. Does it really affect us, humans?
Improper waste management can be interpreted as the act of disposing of your waste that can cause environmental and health problems. Some examples of these may include littering, burning of trashes, dumping hazardous waste in bodies of water or vacant lots.

The Dirty Truth About Waste Crisis
In recent years the issue of improper waste management soil, water, and oil are affected by this problem. Not only this it also contributes to the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Improper waste management could also harm humans and is responsible for several diseases and in the worst-case scenario even caused death. Even with all these, humans tend to ignore and continue to dispose of their waste carelessly. We must take this seriously to stop this problem and preserve our natural resources more.
Effects of Improper Waste Management
As days go by it gets harder to ignore the problem that involves our waste bi-product. We must inform ourselves about the effects of improper waste management, to be aware of what might happen in the future if we won’t take any actions towards it.
1. SOIL CONTAMINATION Contamination is a result when hazardous waste materials get buried or burned in the soil. Plants that are in the soil might absorb the chemicals that were burned or buried in the soil. Animals and humans have plants as their primary source of food and we might be able to eat the plant that was planted in the contaminated soil, this can cause health problems for both humans and animals.
2. TOXIN RELEASE
Humans tend to dispose of their waste everywhere may it be in the bodies of water or bodies of land. The chemicals that aren’t disposed of properly may release toxins into the environment. These toxins that are released by the waste products are cruel to all living organisms.
3. HARM TOWARDS MARINE LIFE
Despite the tight measures to stop it, there are still those who try to dump their waste in the bodies of water, contaminating the living things that are living in it. This type of improper waste management may result in fish kills and even death to some marine animals.
We should manage our waste properly for us to preserve our natural resources that are affected by this problem and for us to live in a cleaner environment. Start managing your waste properly now!
